How To Live Your Best Life
Life moves way too fast. Our days are busy and won’t slow down for anyone. If you are anything like me, maybe you find yourself going through the motions of life and forgetting to enjoy each moment as it comes. Often, people claim they are “living their best life”, but what does that really mean? Here are 5 tips to help you take a step back each day and live your life the best way you can.
- Never turn down time with family. Even if you don’t feel like it, go on a walk with your mom when she asks. Go fishing with your dad. When you are older, you will miss these moments. Spend as much time with your family as possible.
- Wake up without technology. Don’t get on your phone the second you wake up. Get up, get some coffee and open the blinds. Take a deep breath without the pressure of replying, liking and sharing. Your notifications will still be there in 20 minutes.
- Be healthy. Stretch. Eat green food. Exercise plays a key part in mental health. Even just a long walk or some laps in the pool can drastically change your mood. Take care of your body and listen to it. (Even when it needs a rewarding ice cream cone.)
- Appreciate the small things. When you lay down each night find something you are thankful for and something good that happened that day. Every day will not be extravagant and ‘over the moon’ fun, but I guarantee there is something about everyday, you just have to take the time to realize it.
- Be a light. You will never regret being a nice person. You never know what someone else’s day involves and if you can be a positive part of their life, then what is more rewarding than that?
