Staying Positive

Crazy times, right? The best thing I can do at this time is to spread positivity. I know you all are receiving enough anxiety from the news so let’s flip this situation around. We’ve been given this time to focus on ourselves, our health, home, friends and family. We have received a taste of simpler times, whether we like it or not. Although these circumstances are less than ideal, we have to make the most out of them.

Care for yourself and your health. Make an effort every single day to do something for you. Do a face mask, yoga, paint your nails, read a book, meditate, write, pray. Make sure you keep your body moving. Exercise does as much for your mind as it does for your body – get outside and go for a walk! You are doing everything you can and more! Give yourself a break and care for your mind.

Care for your home. I know cleaning is not the most fun thing to do, but hey, it’s something to do. Organize closets, donate unwanted clothes, remodel a room, start a home project. Order some new pillows and spruce up your space. Move around the furniture. If you’re going to be stuck in your home, you might as well give it some TLC!

Care for your friends. Check in on all of your people just to see how they’re doing. Facetime, call, text, just make sure to keep in touch. Sometimes those who are the quietest are those who need someone the most. Be that sunshine in someone’s day. Remember that this time can be extremely lonely for those who are used to always being on the go, show them that you’re thinking of them. .

Care for your family. Think of things for you and your family to do at home. Play games, have movie nights, watch old home videos, do some crafting, cook or bake something together, go on a family walk. With no events or things to go to, you may never have this uninterrupted time together again. If you’re not with your family, call them every day. This is the time to stick together and spread all of the love.

I know it’s not easy right now but take it all in. Write down your emotions and express how you’re feeling. This world crisis will be in history books one day and people will study this time that you’re currently living. Find the good news and turn off the bad.
