Wedding Trends That I Can’t Wait to See This Year
I have been a wedding photographer for over 10 years and brides just continue to get more and more creative! It’s no surprise that I love all things bridal… The dresses, the hairstyles, makeup, traditions, showers, something blue, I could go on and on. There’s just something so classy and beautiful about a time in a woman’s life when she’s a bride-to-be. My biggest advice when choosing details for your wedding is to make them personal to you and your groom. Here are a few trends that I am loving this year and can’t wait to see at upcoming weddings!
Champagne towers are all the rage and so gorgeous! If you’re doing a champagne toast at your reception, definitely look into forming glasses into an aesthetically pleasing tower. Not only do I love this for the amazing photo-op, but it is another memorable moment for the bride and groom at their reception or cocktail hour.
I have seen more and more reception dresses lately and I think they are so fun! It is such a “wow” factor when a bride makes her second debut in another beautiful dress. Brides tend to pick a reception dress so that they can dance more freely all night without worrying about a train or bustle.
Wedding crests have become more popular and I think they are so darling. A wedding crest is a small type of logo design that incorporates your initials, wedding colors, and sometimes different elements that are significant to you and your spouse’s love story. A wedding crest can be used all throughout the wedding process, such as on the save the dates, invitations, and wedding website. Then, you can keep the wedding “on brand” by using it in your signage, napkins, menus, the options are endless! I love seeing how brides get creative with their wedding’s theme.
Lastly, another trend that I have been loving is specialty vendors. Creative brides and grooms are all about their guest’s experience and incorporating a vendor or another surprise at the reception is always a great way to make a lasting impression! I’ve seen couple’s have photo booths, bar trailers with custom cocktails, artists that paint portraits of guests, and also food trucks with yummy treats!
Whether you’re doing one, all, or none of these trends, I guarantee your wedding will be absolutely perfect! If you’re a 2022 or 2023 bride looking for a wedding photographer to beautifully capture your day, contact Elaine Gates Photography. Happy wedding planning!
